This page cuts both ways. It is how you tell us we have used something of yours without permission, and it is how we ask for our own work back when somebody republishes it. Either way, one inbox, one process, no lawyers required to start.
We build from public government data, primary sources and our own writing, and we credit what we quote. If we got something wrong — a figure republished against your terms, a passage quoted past fair use, an image we should not be hosting — tell us and we will look at it the same week. You do not have to send a formal notice to get a fast answer. Email [email protected] with a link to the page and what you want changed.
If you would rather file a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §512), send it to the copyright contact below. To be effective, a notice has to include all six of the things the statute asks for:
We act on complete notices promptly and remove or disable the material. Everything on hustlin.org is published by us, so there is no third-party poster to notify — if a notice is about something we published, you are dealing with us directly. Sending a notice in bad faith — misrepresenting that material is infringing — can make you liable for damages and costs under 17 U.S.C. §512(f).
Send DMCA notices to [email protected] with "DMCA Notice" in the subject line, addressed to the Copyright Agent, Hustlin'. A mailing address is available on request to anyone who needs it to serve a formal notice.
To be straight with you about what that is and is not: we are not currently listed in the U.S. Copyright Office's Directory of Designated Agents. That directory registration is what secures the §512(c) safe harbor for a service provider that hosts material its users upload — and hustlin.org hosts none. There are no comments, no forums and no uploads; everything here is published by us. The channel above is real and monitored, and we act on anything properly identified. If this site ever accepts user-submitted content, the registration goes in first.
If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address. It needs your signature, identification of the removed material and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake, your contact details, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if you are outside the United States, any district in which we may be found). Where the law requires it, we may restore the material in ten to fourteen business days unless the original complainant tells us they have filed suit.
hustlin.org does not host user-submitted content, so there are no user postings to remove and no posting accounts to terminate. If that ever changes, we will adopt, publish and enforce a repeat-infringer policy, which is what 17 U.S.C. §512(i) requires of a service provider relying on the safe harbor.
We name banks, brokerages, credit bureaus, data providers and other companies throughout the site because you cannot teach this subject without naming them. Those names, brands and trademarks belong to their owners and are used for identification and education only. Their use does not imply affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement, and none of them have reviewed or approved anything here. If you own a mark and think a specific use on this site reads as something more than reference, write to [email protected] and point us at the page — we would rather change a heading than argue about it.
Our writing, courses, calculators, charts and design are ours. If you find them republished somewhere else — scraped into a blog, resold as a PDF, reposted as a carousel — send us the link at [email protected]. You are not telling on anybody. You are helping us keep the free version free.
What you can do without asking: link to any page, quote a short passage with credit and a link, and use the free courses and calculators for yourself, your family, your class or your caseload. What needs a conversation first: republishing a lesson in full, mirroring the calculators, or packaging any of it into something you sell. Ask — the answer is often yes.
